When Alcon improved upon its own #1 trifocal intraocular lens (IOL) for cataract surgery, we were met with a challenge. How could we convince ophthalmic surgeons that the new Alcon IOL was indeed an improvement, without compromising the reputation of the current PanOptix^® lens surgeons knew and loved? ​After collaborating with scientists, marketers, and clinicians, we learned PanOptix^® Pro’s innovation centered around harnessing light in a whole new way. The concept of bioluminescence anchored the key point of unprecedented light distribution across a comprehensive launch campaign that inspired surgeons and armed Alcon reps with essential tools to drive adoption.
